Shannon Goodman

President | Atlanta, GA

Shannon is executive director the Lifecycle Building Center, which accepts material donations and redirects them back into the community through resale to the public and through donations to nonprofits. Previously, Shannon spent 13 years working as an architect, most recently with Perkins+Will. After coordinating the donation of 62 tons of building materials from Perkins+Will’s Atlanta office renovation in 2009, Shannon helped formally establish LBC in 2010.

Mike Gable

Vice President | Pittsburgh, PA

Mike is the executive director of Construction Junction, Western Pennsylvania’s first nonprofit organization to collect and sell used and surplus building materials. In partnership with the Trade Institute of Pittsburgh and the Urban Design Build Studio of the Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture, Construction Junction also hosts Project RE_ , which introduces new constituencies to the reuse movement and jobs within the industry.

Natalie Heneghan

Secretary | La Crosse, WI

Natalie is the Community Outreach Director at Habitat for Humanity of the Greater La Crosse Region. She manages the organization's marketing, communications, and advocacy efforts. She uses storytelling and relationship-building skills to inspire people to take better care of our built environment and create equitable, sustainable communities. Natalie has over 10 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, focused on building rehab, material reuse, community education, and local housing issues. She holds a BA in History from Macalester College and a Master’s in Heritage Studies and Public History from the University of Minnesota.

Kinley Deller

Board Member | Seattle, WA

Kinley manages the King County Construction and Demolition (C&D) materials diversion program and serves as a catalyst for the development of circular economies for salvaged lumber and other C&D materials. Building on over 29 years experience in the waste reduction field, Kinley is well versed in deconstruction and building salvage practices. He has been instrumental in promoting the local reuse of salvaged wood and the concept of design for disassembly to maximize the potential for future building reuse.

Chris Pletcher

Treasurer | Ithaca, NY

Chris is a consultant that works with reuse organizations and other social enterprises to implement point-of-sale and other operational systems, provide business analysis and help develop strategies for growth. He has experience in deconstruction, workforce development, energy efficiency, solar energy and general construction. He has a Master of Regional Planning with a focus on Economic Development. Chris believes that the reuse industry is primed to grow exponentially and wants to help Build Reuse be a facilitator of that growth.

Olivia Cashman

Board Member | Minneapolis, MN

Olivia is a Construction and Demolition Waste Specialist with Hennepin County’s Environment and Energy Department where she promotes deconstruction and building material reuse through the county’s building reuse grant program. She also oversees Hennepin County’s pre-demolition inspection program and works to reduce construction and demolition waste on county-owned projects. As the deconstruction and reuse movement continues to build in the Twin Cities, Olivia is excited to deepen connections and exchange expertise with the national Build Reuse community. Olivia has a BS in Environmental Science from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Daniel Kietzer

Board Member | Austin, TX

Daniel leads Ecosystem Growth at Rheaply, providing strategic, organizational and technical support to scale and create new reuse market opportunities between Rheaply clients and partners in select priority regions. He has 10+ years of experience in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors designing and leading impact-focused circular economy and sustainability programs with forward-thinking companies and organizations across the globe.

Stephanie Phillips

Board Member | San Antonio, TX

Stephanie is a public policy professional and urban planner working at the intersection of heritage conservation and sustainability. She is the Deconstruction and Circular Economy Program Manager for the City of San Antonio Office of Historic Preservation, where she oversees the administration of the City’s deconstruction ordinance, the operation and scaling of the Material Innovation Center, and the development of strategic local partnerships to advance building material reuse.

Melissa Wenzel

Board Member | Saint Paul, MN

Melissa is the Built Environment Sustainability Administrator at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and has worked for the state of Minnesota for over 20 years. She supports organizations and individuals who work on entire building preservation and/or reuse, and building material reuse and recycling. Her current focus is on creating system-wide change within the building material management system. for the reuse of buildings and building materials, and works to prevent building materials from going to landfills by encouraging preservation & renovation, reuse, and repair of buildings and building materials. She lives by her work motto: “human being first, government employee second.”

Lauren Onstad

Board Member | Portland, OR

At the City of Portland, Lauren develops policy recommendations that reduce the embodied carbon of construction activities, manages the first-in-the-nation Deconstruction Program, and collaborates with planners to promote adaptive reuse of buildings. She has brought many experiences to this role, including building and remodeling 10 houses (strawbale, SIPs, conventional), leading as Practice Manager at Ankrom Moisan Architects, and working for the American Community Survey. Her mission is to build a thriving national low-carbon building materials economy.

Emily Freeman

Board Member | Boulder, CO

Emily is a Circular Economy Policy Advisor for the City of Boulder. She oversees the success of Boulder’s deconstruction ordinance which keeps carbon intensive building materials available for reuse and recycling and has achieved an average 85% diversion rate across all projects. Emily believes that we can create supportive policy mechanisms to illicit the change we want to see towards creating a circular economy that highlights the value of the built environment. She holds a Masters in Sustainability from Arizona State University.

Yarden Harari

Board Member | New York, NY

Yarden is a licensed Architect and sustainability advisor at Arcadis, working with project teams on a range of solutions in the built environment. Her collaborations on building material reuse bring people together to bridge the technical and social challenges of a circular economy. Some of her favorites include the CoLab workshop on Zero Waste, All For Reuse initiative, and crowdsourced mapping efforts that she hopes to scale with Build Reuse.

Jackie Kirouac-Fram

Board Member | Portland, OR

Jackie has spent her entire career building capacity for organizations that work toward climate and economic justice. She is currently a Senior Consultant with Resource Recycling Systems (RRS) with a focus on deconstruction, reuse, and C+D recycling programs and policy. From 2019-2025 she was Executive Director of the ReBuilding Center in Portland, Oregon - a nonprofit that harnesses the power of reuse and repair of building materials. She has deep expertise in reuse, deconstruction, project management, process analysis, program development, grant management, and sustainable materials management.

Jon Smieja

Board Member | Saint Paul, MN

Jon earned his BS in Chemistry from the University of St. Thomas and his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from UC San Diego. He began his career at Steelcase Inc. as an environmental chemist, later becoming a leader in sustainable design and development. In 2017, Jon joined Andersen Windows & Doors as product sustainability manager, advancing to corporate sustainability manager in 2019. Jon also served as VP of Circularity at GreenBiz, a media and events company advancing the just transition to a clean economy. Currently, Jon is the Director of Circularity and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) at WAP Sustainability Consulting.

Aaron Gould

Board Member | Chattanooga, TN

Aaron has over 20 years of international experience in design and construction, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, health and durable materials - especially mass timber and material reuse. After several seasons in the trades, while guiding climbing and whitewater, he went on to lead and found design, construction, and consulting businesses. Aaron is currently enjoying his 15th year with VaproShield, of Gig Harbor, WA, heading up Sustainability globally.


Tim Torres

Board Member | Phoenix, AZ

Tim has been with Stardust Building Supplies, located in the Phoenix metropolitan area of Arizona, for nearly 2 years. He initially came on board as Receiving Supervisor in early 2024, overseeing all donations delivered to Stardust's reuse center in Mesa AZ. He quickly moved through the ranks to become Receiving Manager, and today serves as Director of Programs, spearheading Stardust's supplemental programs with both environmental and humanitarian focal points. Tim comes from a logistics/finance background and has a passion for sustainability and circular economics.


Our board includes representatives from private, non-profit, and public sectors, spanning reuse retail, policy, deconstruction and salvage operations, historic preservation, social justice, workforce development, and more. We are striving to build a working board that is representative of the community we serve. We're especially interested in filling spots focused on fundraising, finance, social media, policy, and legal - but we welcome anyone with an interest in fulfilling our organization's mission!
