Conference FAQs

Question: What is the cost for a speaker to attend the conference?

Answer: $200. This rate won’t change between now and the start of the conference.

Question: Who do I talk to if I need to arrange accommodations for the conference?

Answer: Please contact paula@buildreuse.org. We’ve had one request for live captions or use of a similar tool. Please let us know how we can make the conference experience a great one for you!

Question: Do you have hotel information?

Answer: We do!  Build Reuse has discounted room blocks at the following hotels within walking distance of the Landmark Center.

 The Saint Paul Hotel

  • To make a reservation: visit www.saintpaulhotel.com and then in the below fields enter the following:

    • Date Range

    • Drop down for Code Type – choose “Group/Code”

    • Enter the group code in CODE -   2888742

  • Rates start at $148 per night plus tax

  • Located across the street from the Landmark Center (2-minute walk)

  • Opened in 1910, this is one of the Twin Cities’ most beloved historic hotels!

 The Celeste of St. Paul Hotel

  •  To make a reservation: The group code is under BUILD

    • Call 651-222-0848 and ask for the group by BUILD or Build Reuse.

    • or Book online at www.celestestpaul.com

      • Select dates and desired room type and then enter BUILD Group under Special Requests when entering your personal information. When The Celeste receives the reservation, they will put it under the block and apply the discount rate.

      • Note: Build will not work as a Promo Code - it should just be entered under special requests.

  • Rates start at $139 per night plus tax

  • Complimentary breakfast for guests served daily 7-10am

  • Located 0.3 miles from the Landmark Center, about an 8-minute walk. The Green Line light rail train is located across the street from the hotel.

Question: What food will be provided at the conference?

Answer: We’re working on final catering arrangements. We are striving to meet the dietary needs of our attendees, and will be providing options that include gluten-free, dairy-free, and plant-based options. Please let us know if you have specific dietary needs by contacting paula@buildreuse.org.

We’ll list all of the food menus once we’ve finalized the catering arrangements. All meals are included with conference registration fee. What we know so far:

  • Light breakfast: pastries, fruit, mini croissants, hard boiled eggs, bacon, sausage

  • Coffee and tea all day

  • Full lunch: Green Mill

  • Afternoon snack: popcorn and trail mix

Wednesday:

Question: Will you be providing any tours or other times to socialize together?

Answer: Yes! We’re finalizing a tour to 3 reuse retailers next to one another for Tuesday, August 5 after conference sessions conclude. We’re also arranging a casual, informal happy hour at a local establishment for Monday evening, August 4. We’ll share information here once finalized.

Question: What’s nearby the Landmark Center? Are there restaurants nearby or places to visit?

Answer: Yes, there are lots of great nearby establishments! Our downtown life is rich and vibrant, especially in the summer! Check out the City of Saint Paul’s Walking Map for more details.
