Following six months of visits among Build Reuse members in the United States, this presentation introduces a standardized method for assessing the reuse potential of building components. The method was developed to address the inconsistencies identified in my comparative analysis of 21 existing assessment procedures from Europe and the USA (2001–2021). The Excel-based prototype, built on monitored data, professional technical briefs, and national statistics, was validated through a full-scale pilot case study in Ithaca (NY), made possible by the project of Felix Heisel and Diane Cohen in collaboration with the City of Ithaca. This validation confirmed the model's accuracy and feasibility. Ongoing development focuses on the Swiss context, adapting and expanding the model, with the objective of commercializing the tool through a start-up based on Swiss business models to support circular and sustainable construction practices.
