Now Hiring: Strategic Partnership Manager (Independent Contractor)
Build Reuse seeks to engage an Independent Contractor to develop, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships that support the organization’s fundraising, sponsorship, and membership growth, and our annual conference revenue objectives.
Location: Fully remote based in the United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
Contract Term: Starting May 1, 2026; 12-month engagement with potential renewal

Compensation: $50/hour, up to 20 hours a week
The Contractor will provide strategic guidance, partnership development, and revenue-generation support as outlined below.

Scope of Services
The contractor will provide the following services, up to 20 hours per week:
A. Strategic Partnership Development
Identify and prioritize prospective corporate, foundation, and institutional partners aligned with the organization’s mission.
Develop partnership value propositions and sponsorship packages.
Create outreach strategies and materials to support partnership acquisition.
Initiate and manage external outreach to prospective partners.
B. Fundraising & Sponsorship Strategy
Develop sponsorship frameworks for organizational programs and initiatives.
Support revenue planning tied to partnership and sponsorship targets.
Negotiate partnership agreements in coordination with organizational leadership.
Assist in closing sponsorship agreements and documenting deliverables.
C. Membership Growth Partnerships
Identify external organizations, associations, and businesses that may drive membership growth.
Develop and execute co-marketing or referral partnership opportunities.
Provide recommendations to enhance membership value through external collaborations.
Grow and refine membership offerings to attract a broader membership base.
D. Annual Conference Sponsorship & Revenue Support
Develop sponsorship tiers, pricing structures, and benefits packages for the annual conference.
Identify and solicit conference sponsors and partners.
Manage sponsor communications and fulfillment tracking related to agreed benefits.
Coordinate sponsor deliverables in collaboration with conference planning staff or vendors.
E. Reporting & Communication
Provide monthly written progress updates outlining:
Outreach activity
Active negotiations and donor conversations
Closed partnerships
New and expired members
Upcoming activities
Revenue projections
Participate in scheduled strategy calls (frequency to be mutually agreed)
Maintain documentation of outreach, sponsor/member pipelines, and status
Deliverables
Deliverables may include:
Strategic partnership plan (within first 60 days)
Sponsorship package materials
Membership program materials
Prospect lists for members and sponsors with prioritization strategy
Monthly activity and revenue reports
Executive sponsorship and partnership agreements
Conference sponsorship summary report (post-event)
Compensation
Hourly rate of $50 per hour. Contractor will submit invoices monthly. Payment term: Net 30 days. Contractor is responsible for all taxes and business expenses unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Term and Termination
This engagement begins on May 1, 2026 or upon contract execution, whichever is later, and will continue for 12 months unless terminated earlier by either party with [30] days written notice.
Independent Contractor Status
The Contractor is an independent contractor and not an employee of Build Reuse.
The Contractor:
Controls the manner and means by which services are performed.
Determines work schedule and location.
Provides their own tools, equipment, and resources.
Is not eligible for employee benefits.
Is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
May provide services to other clients during the term of this agreement.
Nothing in this Scope of Work shall be construed as creating an employer-employee relationship, partnership, or joint venture.
Confidentiality and Intellectual Property
Contractor agrees to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and donor/member/sponsor information. Work products created under this scope of services shall become the property of Build Reuse, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
